Alvarez - Jacobs

Canelo Alvarez vs. Daniel Jacobs: The day has arrived. Three of the four recognized middleweight world championships will be on the line Saturday night when WBA and WBC champion Canelo Alvarez meets IBF king Daniel Jacobs. This bout is one of the must-see fights of the year for boxing fans, and here are the ten things you should know about the event.

Location

Alvarez returns to his home away from home for this fight. Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena is almost the house that Canelo built, as he has established himself as the most prominent boxer to perform regularly at the venue. Saturday's bout will be his fifth fight at T-Mobile Arena with just two of his last seven elsewhere.

It will be Jacobs' first time fighting at T-Mobile Arena.

When: Saturday, May 4, at 9 p.m. ET

Where: T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas

TV: Sky Sports (UK)

Live Stream: DAZN, Sky Go (UK)

Odds: Alvarez -450 (bet $450 to win $100), Jacobs +350 (bet $100 to win $350)

Odds according to Oddschecker and updated Saturday at 7 a.m. ET.

The fight will be viewable exclusively on DAZN. The live streaming service has a contract with both Canelo and Jacobs, which is part of the reason this bout was relatively easy to make.

The undercard begins at 7:30 pm ET and the main card starts at 9 pm. However, Canelo and Jacobs aren't expected to be in the ring until closer to 11:30 pm.

Canelo weighed in at 159.5 pounds while Jacobs tipped the scales at 160. In the past, Jacobs has rehydrated up to well over 170 pounds on fight night. There is a rehydration clause in place for Saturday, which prohibits him from weighing more than 170 pounds the morning of the fight. Jacobs can put on more weight after that final weigh-in, and members of his team believe he will be close to 175 pounds when he climbs into the ring.

Odds

The latest odds have Canelo as the clear minus-495 favorite. Jacobs is the underdog, but most would insist a live one, at plus-370. Jacobs has the size, skill, and power to pull the upset, but Canelo is an exceptional talent. That's why this is such a good fight.

Purse Information

Both Canelo and Jacobs are set to make a pretty penny for Saturday's fight. Canelo signed a historic 11-fight $365 million deal with DAZN. As part of that deal, he will make an estimated $35 million for his work on Saturday. Jacobs signed a smaller, but still lucrative deal with DAZN that will pay him $10 million for the unification bout, although the commission's official info says he'll make $2.5 million.
